One example: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bioConsult-svi.de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bioConsult svi<\/a> (Peter Niesslbeck &amp; colleagues, Munich, Germany).<\/p>\n<h2>History and background<\/h2>\n<h3>Steering Committee and Council<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Participation in an EU qualification programme for liberal professions to develop a professional registration system including an EU ID ProCard (November 2013).<\/li>\n<li>The \u2018European Alliance for Subject-Specific and Professional Accreditation and Quality Assurance\u2019 (EASPA) was founded during a meeting at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.asiin-ev.de\/pages\/en\/asiin-e.-v.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ASIIN<\/a> offices in D\u00fcsseldorf, Germany, on 29 November 2011. EASPA is a pan-European platform for quality assurance in higher education, uniting eight professional associations in Europe, which act as European field-specific networks.<\/li>\n<li>Cooperation with the AIM group to streamline continuing professional education (CPE) for professionals working in medicine development. The initial meeting was in October 2011 in the UK.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>EPB Committee<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Certification of EPBs from 9 EU countries and 3 Commonwealth countries in 2010\u20132015.<\/li>\n<li>Building up an EPB database with self-editable personal information in addition to officially approved data.<\/li>\n<li>EPB Commission meetings and Skype conferences.<\/li>\n<li>Reports of the EPB Commissioner at the ECBA Council Meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Relaunch of the EPB website in June 2010.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>National EPB officers<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Scanning their biological associations for potential new EPBs.<\/li>\n<li>Informing their biological associations about the new information material, available on the EPB website and the ECBA website.<\/li>\n<li>Informing biologists in their countries about the EPB programme of ECBA as a renewed strategy to guarantee comparability of qualifications in the EU, bringing professional biologists in 27 EU countries together.<\/li>\n<li>Using social networks such as Xing, Facebook and LinkedIn for member contacts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>For members<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Advertising the EPB title at EU institutions in Brussels.<\/li>\n<li>Offering the EPB title as a quality label to the European Commission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>EPB meetings<\/h3>\n<p>EPB meetings are optional meetings that are not scheduled regularly. The next EPB meeting will be announced in the news, and all certified EPBs will be invited by e-mail.<\/p>\n<p>The EurProBiol meeting of 2010 was planned in Brussels (November 2010). EPBs from all countries were invited to send proposals for contributions of about 10 minutes. The EPB Committee collected them and informed the authors in September whether their proposals were accepted for specific sessions. Important strategic decisions on professional EU qualification and recognition, with consequences for professional mobility in Europe, were on the agenda.
